Precision Mounting Technologies (PMT) started as a family-run business in the mid-eighties with an original focus (as an early adopter) on mounting “bag” phones into vehicles. The core product offering at the time was the “Extendo-Flex” mount, which was ahead of its time and renowned for its rigidity and adaptability, providing a premium method of mounting these devices into vehicles. That quickly led to broadening the scope of devices that the “Extendo-Flex” could mount in vehicles as the adoption of in-vehicle MDT’s spread in public safety. As technology developed and personal computers and tablets became increasingly popular through the ’90s and ‘00s, Zirkona established itself as a “go-to” mounting solution in Europe, enticing Gamber-Johnson’s interest.
